The ABC Carolinas Chapter offers its membership the opportunity to get more out of their connection with Associated Builders & Contractors by serving as a volunteer on one or more of our Chapter Committees. If you would like more information on Committee participation, please contact any Regional Membership Director.
Strategic Planning Committees:
Membership Committee
Is one of your job responsibilities networking for your business? Serving on the Membership Committee could be a perfect opportunity for you. The Membership Committee is dedicated to providing Chapter programming information to current members and identifying new members who would benefit from joining ABC. The Membership Committee also assists staff with planning activities and with check-in at our events to welcome attending members.
Government Affairs Committee
Our Government Affairs Committee work closely with our GA Director to establish and nurture relationships with local government and State legislators on key issues facing the industry. The Committee encourage National & State PAC contributions, as well as planning & attending our annual ‘Hard Hat Day’ events at the State Capitols in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Special Events Committees
Committees are formed each year in Council areas to assist the Chapter staff in planning and implementing meaningful and informative events to add value to your ABC membership.
Workforce Development Committees:
Safety Education Committee
The Safety Education Committee consists of safety professionals and consultants, and share best practices, lessons learned, and go on site visits to discuss the safety issues at each site. The committee works to educate the council on any new safety regulations or standards that have changed, as well as helping out with the annual Safety Conference, and promoting the STEP application and awards.
Apprenticeship & Craft Education Committee
The Apprenticeship & Craft Education Committee is charged with reviewing current training operations, as well as working with the Chapter President/CEO on developing additional craft course options, semester scheduling, and training location partnerships.
School to Career Committee
The School to Career Committee is focused on developing programming to address the commercial & industrial construction workforce shortage by engaging high school & college students to promote options for their career choice.
